China international gallery Expo (CIGE) has held eight international gallery fairs since it was first held in 2004. The 9th China international art Expo (CIGE 2012) will be held on April 12, 2012, solstice and 15 at the exhibition hall of China international trade center in Beijing. Frogman Art was invited to participate in the exhibition, which will feature Michael Parkes’ famous work 《Venus》.

Born in Missouri, USA, artist Michael Parkes is a world-renowned pioneer of magical realism painter, sculptor and master of lithography. “Venus” became his eye-catching masterpiece. When asked about the creation of “Venus,” Michael said: “this is the oriental epitome of God’s descend to Earth. She has been a great mentor in shaping us physically and helping us to innovate our consciousness. Historically, it can be said that few women have been used as the incarnation of god. In this painting of Venus, what I hope to depict is that she came to earth as the incarnation of a goddess, bringing us female energy of harmony and beauty, and at the same time, as a messenger of god, announcing the beginning of earth’s transformation. Michael tries to show his magical side in his works. It may be hidden in reality, but it is as real as secularism and chaos. The incredible beauty, the static space and the hopeful light shining behind Venus in the work are not accidental, but are finally presented by the artist after repeated deliberation. Each detail is fascinating and full of quiet magic color.
