British artist Doug Hyde has been deeply influenced by pop culture since the 1970s. The simple lines, evenly colored figures and symbolic human expressions are both the artist’s memories and homage to a bygone era. Those contours, though simple and straightforward, are full of personality, and those concise images have always maintained a high degree of unity. Doug’s works have the characteristics that make people unforgettable, Doug’s work often leaves a deep impression in its audience’s mind: black and white is the main color, and the story is dyed with a straightforward feeling through storytelling. black and white as the main tone, through the narrative way of the story for the picture with a straight into the hearts of the feelings (delete this.) The exhibition will focus on artist’s recently-launched work with the theme of North Pole. Fascinated by the monochromatic nature of the arctic wilderness, Doug takes pains to paint a warm story of what happens in the arctic. In the story, there are penguins who bow their heads and mourn their lovers. There are dramatic mutual bond between penguins and polar bears. There are playful dreams of penguins flying to the crescent moon. Artists add a magical and mysterious aura to this sacred place with extremely simple colors. “Nature is one of the greatest works of art.” Artists passionately yearn for nature, and the lost elk series is the ultimate in this obsession.
