Artist D.E. McDermott was born in the United States and studied under world-famous designers Anna Huntington and Richard Miller. Since 1986 when he began creating sculpture, he has been exploring how to combine humanity, soul and faith into his works. His works are simple and clever, which are deeply loved by collectors at home and abroad. His work “Youth” was collected as a city coordinate in Valencia, Spain. “Dance rhyme” by Japan’s Kagawa city as a city landmark and permanent collection; The 15-inch sculpture “dance of life” has become a symbol of art and fraternity at the children’s hospital of Chicago.
D.E. McDermott is an artist who is highly sensitive to the present world and spiritual experience. He extracts obvious images in real life into symbolic symbols through his own sensory experience. With his unique theory of artistic perception, he uses simple lines, flowing curves and rhythms to present his ideas and perception of the world through sculpture. In his representative work “mother and child”, the sculptor shows not only the physical beauty shown by lines, but also the lifelike intimate relationship between mother and child, which brings viewers the warm texture of family affection. This kind of abstract creation technique with symbolic meaning appears in the artist’s works many times, which enables viewers to achieve a deeper spiritual exploration and emotional resonance through visual experience of appearance.
